Speed Dating can be disheartening.

I have a few reactions to this photo besides the obvious, which is the poor guy sitting there all by his lonesome, just looking all sad and whatnot. First off, is that a 13-year old kid speed dating a 47-year old woman I see? Wassup with that? Secondly, do the speed dating organizers really think the little hearts on the tables add a touch of romance to the whole experience? I mean, you’re in a fluorescent lighted room filled with plastic conference tables and chairs, but the little paper hearts are going to put people in the mood for love? Finally, do you have to sit for the whole 2-minutes or can you just take a look and say, “Nope. Not interested. Move along please”? Because that could hurt some feelings. Then again, if you’re speed dating I don’t suppose your dating expectations are that high anyway. Hey, to each his own I guess.

Note: Yes, I see the person in the wheelchair back there. I’m not touching that one.
