Of course they didn’t. And before you label me as one of those conspiracy nutcases, hear me out. It’s just that I love reading this sort of stuff. The Illuminati, secret societies, all that stuff intrigues me. Bottom line I’m a skeptic, but these folks are just endlessly fascinating to me. That said, while perusing the worldwide interwebs the other day I came across several sites that claim the 9/11 attacks in 2001 were predicted in cartoons.

Crazy? Yes. Intriguing? Hell yah. What follows are some examples, and while they’re surely just weird, eerie coincidences, they also just might make your jaw drop a little. Let’s get to it . . .

The first screen grab is from the cartoon Johnny Bravo, and it was first shown in 1994. Check it:

 9112001

Y-e-a-h, that’s a little weird. Sure, it’s probably just a random poster for a fictional disaster movie, but still . . . yikes.

Our next entry comes from our beloved Simpsons, from an episode that aired in 1997. In the episode, the family was going to NYC and was checking out tour rates. Take a look at the brochure Lisa is showing Bart:

91197

Yep, the nine is followed by the Twin Towers, clearly forming a 911. When you really think about it that’s quite a coincidence. Weird as hell.

Next up is a couple stills from a 1994 Iron Man comic, an they pretty much speak for themselves:

Again, I know it’s just an eerie coincidence but the visuals are a little jarring.

The next example I stumbled across is not a comic or cartoon, but rather an album cover. It’s from the great 1979 Supertramp album, “Breakfast in America.” The cover is supposed to be New York City made of breakfast utensils, and the Twin Towers clearly reach up to touch the album title. However, there’s more. If you reverse the album cover you see this:

911super

Yep, that’s 911 right over The World Trade Center. Yowza.

Finally, I give you the most bizarre, eerie, creepy thing I found. It’s a cartoon that first aired on television in, wait for it . . . 1949. Listen, I have no idea what context these words were uttered in, but I do know that I see an animated dog perfectly describe to Porky Pig what the area around the Twin Towers was like that fateful morning of September 11th, 2001. Yeah, I know that is the most ridiculous sentence ever typed on this site. What the hell, just watch.

Hey, you were warned.

Listen, I’m not an idiot. I don’t believe any of this stuff. I understand that if you pour through enough old comics and stuff you’ll find scenes and pictures to fit just about anything you want. Hell, there’s a whole bunch of sites dedicated to 9/11 being predicted in movies too. That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy reading about it.

If you found this interesting at all, you must check out the gem below. It’s Back to the Future’s 9/11 Prediction. Yep, that’s just what it sounds like. It gives video “proof” as to why they knew, in 1985, what was to happen 16-years later on 9/11/01, and not only that but they gave hints in the movie “Back to the Future.” Insane, I know. Interesting viewing though, trust me. Enjoy:
