Run, Tinsel, Run!

Wait. I think Tinsel may be a cow.

Police were hunting a runway reindeer on Monday after it escaped from a Christmas tree farm. Seven-month-old Tinsel disappeared after “sneaking out” of the farm and making a bid for freedom just 20 minutes after arriving at her new home.

Owner Toby Ryley, 28, paid $1,500 for the albino reindeer but she escaped after squeezing under a gate of her enclosure on Friday evening.

Mr. Ryley, who runs Bosworth Water Park Christmas Tree Farm in Market Bosworth, said: “I had a brand new pen and enclosure built especially for them and there was a tiny gap underneath the main gate. “I don’t know how it managed to do it, but Tinsel sneaked out. It was a case of a steep learning curve.

“I bought her so she could be seen by the visitors coming in the run up to Christmas, I was going to train her for sleigh rides. I hope she will be found soon out eating grass in the nearby fields. She’s a wild animal and I think she’s is having the life of Riley. The only thing I’m worried about is that it could be shot if someone is out there hunting.”

Leicestershire Police confirmed that the force was investigating Tinsel’s disappearance.
