Posts Tagged ‘Cool Animal of the Day: The Whip-Tailed Vinagroon’

Check out that Whip-Tailed Vinagroon, man. Dude looks like a lobster from hell. Most commonly seen in the desert, summer rains bring Vinegaroons out of their burrows in search of food and love. Vinegaroons are about 3-inches long and relatively benign unless you happen to annoy them, and then you’re in deep shit. They can pinch with their heavy mouthparts and shoot a well-aimed spray of 85% acetic acid from the base of their “whip” to protect themselves. Diabolical. Anywho, Whip-Tailed Vinagroon.
