About Dave Shoemaker

I’ve been employed as an educator since 1984. I hold a Masters Degree in Educational Administration as ShoeNapleswell as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University. I have taught various subjects at several grade levels, ranging from pre-school to 8th Grade. As of June 30th, 2013, I retired from teaching but have continued to stay in contact by subbing frequently. I just love it too much to give it up completely.

I have also coached several sports and have spent 13-years as a high school basketball coach and 11-years as a high school and college Athletic Director. In addition to being involved in college basketball camps at several major universities, I have served as the National Basketball Coach for the island country of Montserrat in the British West Indies.

In the Spring of 2012 I was asked to return to lead the basketball program at Paint Valley High School, a position I held from 1989-1996. I accepted and coached again from 2012-2018. My teams won 7 Sectional Titles in the 13-years I coached, and I am the all-time leader in victories at my school.

I am also an artist and have illustrated a children’s book and designed numerous t-shirts, posters, logos and political pamphlets. I love music and have an extensive collection of classic, alternative, R&B and other musical genres.

I am also an avid reader of almost any genre and enjoy eating foods from various cultures and ethnicities.

ShoeCartoonMy son Kip is a 2011 graduate of The Ohio State University and is employed by Farm Credit Services of Mid-America in Washington Court House.

I am currently single and live in southern Ohio with my dog Sparky, my best friend and loyal companion.

Hi I think you will have a rich experience if you coach the Bball in Lagos. I was looking Round the web for a Bball camp in Lagos bcos I am planning to have my sons spend their summer there. If you are sure to go let me know what your camp is and where. Stay in Victoria island or ikoyi. It’s safer.

Not much interesting to say, Sir Shoemaker ~ save that I’m 𝒔𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 to have happened upon your blog, tonight! 𝑾𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚 entertaining, and just plain 𝒇𝒖𝒏! (Uh, except for the ghost stories … I know, 𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘! … no one 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 me read 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚. 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒈. 𝑶𝒏𝒆. 𝑶𝒇. ‘𝑬𝒎, and it’s only 𝒎𝒚 fault that I cannot now “call it a night” and turn off my bedside lamp. But … 𝒈𝒆𝒆𝒆𝒆𝒆𝒛 … that was some 𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆!) Looking forward to whatever you compose, next. 💚

You need to add the spotted dick into your foods with suggestive names list. You’re welcome – always glad to help.

Hey Dave. I saw your story about “Pop” and brought back a few memories I have of Pop, generally down at the post office waiting on a ride somewhere but he was always as you describe, quite a character, not so much politically correct but always entertaining. I also remember all the times we spent together fondly. Had a lot of good times buddy.

Gimme a holler.
