Incredible Photo of the Day: VE Day Celebration

You know why the Americans in the photo below are badasses? Because they’re lounging around at Adolf Hitler’s house. They’re at his Berchtesgaden residence in Austria on May 8th, 1945, which was VE Day. After a short bombing campaign of the town of Obersalzberg, where the house was located,  troops seized the residence.  Easy company want on to inspire the multi-award winning series Band of Brothers. Pretty sure they’ve been enjoying some of der fuhrer’s wine too. ‘Merica!
