Check out the Long-Beaked Echidna, man. Looks like an anteater and porcupine made sweet love and popped out this guy. Dude has a snout like you read about. This little bro lives in New Guinea and is one of the two types of mammals that lay eggs, the other being the platypus. Who knew? But here’s the cool part – they retain many reptilian features such as egg-laying but display mammalian features such as fur and lactation. Because of this they were one of the first surviving mammals to clearly show a snap-shot of macroevolution in action. Cool beans. Anywho, Long-Beaked Echidna.

Note: Bet you never read about macroevolution in those other, more boring and lame blogs you read, amirite? You’re welcome.
